Information We Collect

We collect information you provide through our forms, including:

  • Contact info: name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, email, phone number.
  • Project details: homeowner status, project type (repair/install), system type (heating/cooling), and other details you submit.
  • Consent/verification: consent proof such as IP address, timestamp, user agent, and a certificate URL (e.g., TrustedForm/Jornaya data), to document your opt-in.
Data minimization: If you do not truly need date of birth or gender for HVAC matching, do not collect it.

How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver your request to third-party HVAC providers and marketing partners.
  • To verify consent and maintain compliance records for calling/texting laws.
  • To operate, maintain, and improve our website and lead delivery systems.
  • To prevent fraud and protect the security of our systems.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

How We Share Information

When you submit a request, you authorize us to disclose your information to third-party HVAC providers, their agents, and marketing partners so they can contact you.

Important: In some US states (notably California), disclosing information to third parties for value can be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.

We may also share information with vendors that help us operate our services (hosting, security, analytics, consent documentation), subject to contractual restrictions where applicable.

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

We and our providers use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to measure advertising performance and to understand how visitors use this site. The providers we currently use are:

  • Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms) — measures and optimizes our advertising.
  • AnyTrack — attributes visits and form submissions to the advertisement they came from.
  • PostHog (EU hosting) — product analytics and session recordings (see below).
  • Umami (self-hosted) — aggregate, cookieless traffic statistics.
  • TrustedForm (ActiveProspect) — documents your consent, as described above.
Session recordings: We record on-page interactions such as mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and which form step you reached, so we can find and fix problems in the form. All form input is masked before it is recorded — the content you type into fields such as name, date of birth, address, email, and phone number is never captured in a recording. We do not record your screen outside this website.

Global Privacy Control: If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of the sale/sharing of personal information and session recording is disabled automatically for your visit.

You can also block these technologies with your browser settings or an ad/tracker blocker. Doing so does not affect your ability to submit the form or the services you receive.

Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to (a) deliver leads and operate our services, (b) maintain consent and compliance records, (c) resolve disputes, and (d) comply with legal obligations.

Typical ranges (edit to be true): lead records: [X months]; consent proof: [X years]; logs: [X days].

US State Privacy Rights

Depending on your state (e.g., California, Colorado, Virginia, Texas), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your data, and to opt out of certain processing (including sale/share or targeted advertising).

California residents can use the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link in the footer and/or a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal where applicable.

Your information may be transferred from the EU to the United States and processed there by recipients. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer tools such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework participation (if applicable) and/or Standard Contractual Clauses.

You may request information about transfer safeguards by contacting us at contact@factbinger.com.
